FORTUNE -- For my money, the best thing these days about Macworld/iWorld (the event) is the panel of writers and editors Macworld (the magazine) pulls together each year to discuss the future of Apple (AAPL).
If, like me, you couldn't make it to this week's expo, the attached video from Thursday's panel may have to do.
It's a compilation of soundbites from some of the smartest Apple watchers in the business: Jason Snell (@jsnell), Ben Bajarin (@BenBajarin), Rene Ritchie (@reneritche), Christina Bonnington (@redgirlsays) and Dan Moren (@dmoren).
To get the ball rolling, Snell offered a talking point straight out of CNBC: "Apple must release a smart watch in 60 days... or it's all over!"
The 28-year-old expo has a new brand, a new focus and hundreds of fizzy new products
When Apple (AAPL) announced in 2008 that it was pulling out of Macworld -- no longer exhibiting its products or staging Steve Jobs' closely-watched keynotes -- many wondered whether the venerable expo could survive.
It was touch and go there for a while, but it turns out there is money to be made providing a venue MOREPhilip Elmer-DeWitt - Jan 26, 2012 10:33 AM ET
