A win win for Google Chrome and charity.
Google(GOOG) is going to putting some money up for charity in an event this week called Chrome for a Cause. To get people using Chrome and specifically Chrome extensions and tabs, Google will donate a certain amount of resources to each charity dependant on how many Chrome tabs are opened throughout each day. Download the extension and the more tabs you open, the more theoretically you give to the charity of your choice (out of five Google has picked).
The chrome for a cause extension will count your tabs while you browse the web. At the end of the day, you'll be asked to choose a charity to receive your tabs. Every day between December 15 and 19 presents the chance to contribute your tabs, so you can choose to support the same charity or pick a different one each day.
The five charities that are involved are: The Nature Conservancy, charity: water, Room to Read, Médecins Sans Frontières and Un Techo para mi País and the event runs from today to December 19th.
