Game Changers

Steve Jobs, Bloomberg TV style

October 13, 2010: 7:57 AM ET

Don't expect any surprises Thursday from the usual cast of commentators

[UPDATE: The show has aired, and to our surprise, it's pretty good. See here.]

In the second of its so-called Game Changer profiles, Bloomberg Television will take a 25-minute look at the legend of Steve Jobs.

The show is scheduled to air Thursday Oct. 14 at 9 p.m. EDT.

The first Game Changer, on Mark Zuckerberg, aired last Thursday -- a week after The Social Network offered an historically inaccurate but infinitely more entertaining version of the Facebook creation myth.

If that 25-minute exercise in TV biopic (available here) is any guide, this week's episode is unlikely to offer insights into the kind of things Apple (AAPL) investors most want to know: the state of Jobs' health, who his successor might be and when Verizon (VZ) is finally going to get an iPhone.

Instead, we'll get the usual cast of commentators offering unsurprising soundbites ("This is a gutsy guy") and headsnapping hyperbole ("There wasn't a goat farmer in Afghanistan who hadn't heard about the iPhone").
