FORTUNE -- It was a good week for Apple (AAPL) on the political comedy circuit, starting with Andy Borowitz's In poll about debt-ceiling crisis, Americans totally excited about new iPhone and closing with Saturday Night Live's Obamacare opener, which included this exchange:
Woman: I already have a complaint about Obamacare. My iPhone 5S broke and I took it to the Genius Bar and they would NOT fix it. I mean, what the hell is that?
Obama: OK. All right. I can see... I believe you're confusing Obamacare with AppleCare.
Woman: Well, either way, it happened on your watch.
It can feel like a cult, he says. And behind the scenes, it's "all sell, sell, sell!"
Apple's (AAPL) 46,600 employees tend to like where they work, and it's rare that one talks out of school.
But in the current issue of Popular Mechanics, of all places, an Apple retail store employee talks candidly -- if anonymously -- about what's going on behind those whoops, hollers and high-fives.
