If you count the iPad and iPod touch, it looks like iOS by about 1.6 million units
Without a press release from Apple (AAPL) crowing about their Christmas sales, we're forced to rely on data from a mobile analytics firm and tweets from a Google (GOOG) senior vice president to make some rough guesses.
Here's what we know:
But this is just guesswork, and it doesn't take into account sales of Amazon's (AMZN) Kindle Fire, which wouldn't show up in Google's accounting of Android activations. We'll get hard numbers in January when Apple reports its earnings for its first fiscal quarter of 2012, which ends Saturday.

Google's (GOOG) chief legal counsel's angry screed on the company's official blog in which he accuses Apple (AAPL) and Microsoft (MSFT) of waging a hostile, organized, anti-competitive campaign against Android through dubious and bogus patents (adjectives all his) may be remembered as one of the most misguided briefs any high-tech lawyer has ever written.

The cell company is rebooting Sidekick phones on Google's Android OS, leaving Microsoft's $500 million purchase of Danger looking wasted.

Here's a great little video which shows the phenomenal rate of increase in Android activations.
At last count, Google (GOOG) was activating 300,000 devices per day. It is hard to imagine Android has grown in just about two and a half years. This video, put out by the official Android developers YouTube account, certainly helps.
Some music would have been nice.
