Too much demand or not enough iPads? You be the judge.

FORTUNE -- I'm fascinated by output of developer Mordy Tikotzky's latest widget: A Web tool at that displays the availability of iPad Airs at the 20 Apple (AAPL) stores nearest a given U.S. Zip Code.

If you're in the market for a new tablet, you can try it at Apple-Tracker.com.

The attached snapshots for the New York metro area Sunday morning show widespread shortages of high-capacity iPads -- especially the 128GB models. Does that mean early adopters are snapping them up? Or that Apple isn't making enough? Your guess is as good as mine.

Meanwhile, one of these panels is not like the others. Can anyone tell me what's going on with Sprint (S)?
