The bug in Windows that Apple once mocked has come back to bite them.

FORTUNE -- Nobody is calling iOS 7 the new Vista.

Well, TechCrunch's Alex Wilhelm did. And the Mercury News' Troy Wolverton dubbed iOS 7 "one of the buggiest" system updates Apple (AAPL) has ever released.

Most tech reporters, to their credit, simply noted the comic irony that some iPhone 5S owners -- including your's truly -- are experiencing Apple's version of Windows' BSoD.
