Apple ran out of iPad minis -- all models -- in three days

October 29, 2012: 7:10 AM ET

No word yet from the company about how many were pre-ordered

From apple.com

FORTUNE -- Pre-orders for the iPad mini began at Apple's (AAPL) online store Friday at 3 a.m. Eastern (12 a.m. Pacific). They went quickly -- although not as quickly as the iPhone 5.

  • In 20 minutes the Wi-Fi-only white models sold out in all three memory configurationsĀ (16GB, 32GB, 64GB)
  • In 35 hours the black 16GB models were gone
  • By 11 p.m. Sunday -- less than three days after they went on sale -- the rest were gone as well

If you order one now, it will be available to ship in two weeks. Wi-Fi + Cellular models are being given a delivery date of Nov. 23.

Apple hasn't said how many units it made available for pre-order, or how many it set aside for sale this Friday at its retail outlets.

If it was a nice round number, perhaps we'll get a press release today.

If you're willing to stand in line, iPad minis will be available on sale Nov. 2 at Apple Stores and select resellers in the U.S., Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.K.
