Today in Tech: HP says Apple will become PC leader

* HP CEO Meg Whitman told the French newspaper Le Figaro that, if you count iPads as PCs, Apple (AAPLwill likely surpass her company as the leading PC vendor next year. (Though, HP wants to reclaim that title come 2013.) Also, Whitman said the company could announce the fate of its webOS operating system within the next two weeks. (All Things D)

* Ex-Olympus chief executive Michael C. Woodford resigned from the company's board. Woodford was recently fired from the top spot after questioning excessive company spending to cover up investment losses going back to the 1990s. (The New York Times)

* Spotify CEO Daniel Ek announced the arrival of apps to his growing music streaming service, which now reports 10 million active users, 2.5 million of which are paying subscribers. Expect curated song recommendations from editors and celebrities by way of Rolling Stone's app for instance and timely concert recommendations via Songkick. (Spotify)

*A group led by Alibaba Group, including Softbank Corp. and Bain Capital, are reportedly prepping a bid to buy Yahoo (YHOO). (Bloomberg)

* Harvard Law School professor and book author Jonathan Zittrain on why the personal computer is dead thanks to the rise of mobile, lightweight, cloud-focused devices. (Harvard Law)

* Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster believes Apple's all-in-one TV set is coming next year in a variety of sizes. (Business Insider)
