T-Mobile beats Verizon to Galaxy Tab launch

October 27, 2010: 1:12 PM ET

T-Mobile announced that it would sell Samsung's Galaxy Tab on November 10th, starting at $399 with a data plan.

T-Mobile announced this morning that it will be the first U.S. carrier to carry the Samsung Galaxy Tab in the U.S.,  unless AT&T (T) announces an earlier ship date in the next week or so.

The November 10th ship date beats rival Verizon (VZ) by a day.

T-Mobile will sell the Tab for $399 with a two-year data plan and $599 off plan.  T-Mobile data plans are $40/month for 5GB and $25 for 200MB.   A Wi-Fi-only Tab will be available from retailers like Best Buy (BBY) for $499.

T-Mobile will bundle the free Amazon Kindle reader, an Asphalt 5 HD demo, Slacker radio and Samsung's Media Hub software.

The Galaxy Tab runs Android 2.2 and includes Adobe's (ADBE) Flash and front- and rear-facing cameras.  Its screen and weight are both about half of Apple's (AAPL) popular iPad.
