  • Hard drive maker Seagate Technology is considering an offer from an undisclosed company to take it private. (Emii)

  • A new Nielsen report confirms that teens text a lot -- an average of 3,339 a month -- but that 38% of teens also use tons of mobile apps too, including Facebook, Pandora and YouTube. (Read Write Web)
  • A.M.D.'s third-quarter loss of $118 million was slightly less than the same period last year, of $128 million. But the company says it would have earned more had it not been been for its stake in factories spun off last year. (TechEYE)
  • UberCab, an car service request mobile app, raised $1.25 million from First Round Capital, Lowercase Capital, and Founder Collective. (TechCrunch)
  • According to Flurry analytics firm, sales of virtual goods within Apple iOS now beats ad sales (80% to 20%) (9 to 5 Mac)
