New Android/Cloud products announced to make mobile computing easier

From their San Francisco Offices today, Google announced an update to its Google Voice search.

Did you know that 25% of Android 2.0 search is done by voice?  Google plans to expand the use of voice in its Android phones with a new product called 'Voice Actions' inside its new Google Search for Android product, being released today.

The product adds one action SMS, automatic dialing, dictating email and mapping to Android devices to Android 2.2 devices using the following commands:

• send text to [contact] [message]
• listen to [artist/song/album]
• call [business]
• call [contact]
• send email to [contact] [message]
• go to [website]
• note to self [note]
• navigate to [location/business name]
• directions to [location/business name]
• map of [location]

Could Google's 'Voice Actions' be Android's killer app?

Sadly, the app is only available for Android 2.2 phones like the Nexus One, Sprint EVO 4G and Droid/2.

The other app they are talked about todayis Chrome-to-Phone.  Instead of just Maps and webpages that were introduced at Google I/O, you can now also push YouTube videos and  phone numbers to your phone (and your phone calls the number automatically).
