To support his contention that the press had blown the iPhone 4's antenna issues wildly out of proportion, Steve Jobs announced at his July 16th press conference that Apple (AAPL) had sold "well over" 3 million units in three weeks.
That sounds like a lot. But is it?
Not compared with the astonishing 1.7 million iPhone 4s -- including MORE

The svelte Samsung's Galaxy S platform comes to U.S. shores with an amazing 4-inch Super AMOLED display.
Seeing Samsung's new Galaxy S hardware on a web site just doesn't do it justice. Google announced it had purchased Metaweb for an undisclosed sum yesterday. Metaweb is a company that organizes data on the web by 'entity'. What's that? Cue the video:
Metaweb should add some intelligence to Google's search engine algorithms. But that's not all they get.

Between a Steve Jobs keynote in June that ignored it and media feeding frenzy in July that had nothing to do with it, one might almost forget that Apple (AAPL) makes a line of computers called Macintosh.
But it will be hard to ignore the Mac on Tuesday MORE

A sampling of opinions -- the good, the bad and the ugly

Given how much attention Apple (AAPL) was getting before Steve Jobs' "Antennagate" press conference Friday -- CNBC greeted it with a countdown clock and eight simultaneous talking heads -- it's not surprising that his performance got widely reviewed.
