  • I Want My G(oogle) TV

The question in the aftermath of Google's smart TV announcement is, who wants one? Especially since over the last decade, mating the PC to a television has resulted in an unholy alliance that primarily sent people running from their favorite gadget store. Remember WebTV (now the lackluster MSNTV)? Or all those media centers that every PC manufacturer was flogging? Youch.

Paul Otellini, CEO of Intel (INTC) certainly does. The largest maker MORE

  • Brits vote iPhone 8th greatest invention

More important than the flush toilet, the internal combustion engine, and the bed

Here's a survey that says a lot about the priorities of the 4,000 British adults, ages 18 to 85, who were asked by Tesco Mobile to rank the world's 100 most important inventions.

Putting the wheel at No. 1 makes sense. Ditto the light bulb at No. 3 and penicillin at No. 7.

But even Apple (AAPL) CEO Steve Jobs MORE

  • Google Android's market share bests iPhone

At Google I/O, Google is rambling off one impressive number after another for Android.

Google says they are activating over 100,000 Android devices/day.  That is 3 million a month and a whopping 36 million/year.  And growing.

According to Admob, they've passed the iPhone in market share.  And they're only behind RIM in US smartphone sales, according to NPD.

That is in the first 18 months.  They are now moving on to Froyo...

  • Sprint's Android superphone in need of super battery

The Android superphone with incredible specs also requires a super battery, which wasn't part of the package.

The Sprint EVO reviews came rolling in last night and were pretty much on par with what everyone anticipated.  The phone has the best screen you can currently buy on a smartphone -- 4.3 inches of glass cover a 480x800-pixel LCD.

The data over 4G is the fastest you can get (where available) and the MORE

The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority announced that it will block the popular social networking site YouTube a day after Facebook met a similar fate.

Yesterday, a Pakistani court ordered that Facebook be blocked because of the"Everybody Draw Muhammad Day" group that was formed on its site. Obviously, MORE

How to turn bad publicity into a public relations coup for less than $500

    Source: KGO-TV

Michael Finney, a consumer reporter for KGO-TV, the local ABC affiliate in San Francisco, thought he had a story that would give Apple (AAPL) and its "red hot iPad" a big black eye.
